Simple Happy Life – 15 October 2019

For women, and particularly for those women who are trying to build their business online, it’s so important to understand that being imperfect rather than perfect is what will really help you to succeed. .
.
.
Don’t believe me?
.
.
.
Consider the last perfect image that you saw as you scrolled through Instagram. Did that image make you feel connected to the person who had posted it? Does looking at perfect images of other people’s lives make you feel good and make you feel connected to them? If you’re anything like me the answer will be no.
.
.
.
I follow a wide variety of accounts and brands on Instagram and other social media and some of these accounts certainly do portray a very perfect way of being and of living. I follow (although I do this much less these days) business women who consistently appear to have their shit together on just about everything. .
.
.
.
And do you know what? These are not The businesses and the people that I truly connect with.
And to put it bluntly, they are not the people that I end up buying from.
.
.
.
I end up truly connecting with, collaborating with and buying from women who are brave enough to be imperfect and who have the courage to put themselves and their products and services out into the world, regardless of whether they think that they are truly good enough or not.
.
.
.
I know from my work with women, that this endless striving for perfection is probably one of the biggest things that gets in the way of women leading fulfilling and successful lives. .
.
.
Women who do not put things out into the world through fear of them not being perfect. Women who delay and postpone creating things or starting businesses or launching products because they fear they are not yet good enough. I have certainly been this woman.
.
.
.

I just want to really clearly give the message today that not only is it okay to be imperfect it is actually a solid life and business advantage. Because however wonderful perfection looks, it almost always fails to connect. And more than ever in our lives and in our businesses we need to experience true connection with others.
